Women’s Health Epidemiologist. Director of State Policy & Research for Public Health Advocates.

Flojaune Griffin Cofer

Flojaune Griffin Cofer is a women’s health epidemiologist who serves as the Director of State Policy and Research for Public Health Advocates. The mission of Public Health Advocates is to promote health equity by helping cities, counties, and schools become places that nurture health and wellbeing for everyone.  Her professional interest is conducting translational research to influence infrastructure, systems, and  direct service programs to address emerging and persistent public health challenges.

Prior to joining Public Health Advocates, for six years she led the preconception health initiative as a contractor for the California Department of Public Health.  Flojaune received Bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry and Women's Studies from Spelman College.  Her public health training in reproductive and women’s health was at the University of Michigan, School of Public Health where she earned a Master’s in Public Health and doctorate in epidemiology.
